Our 30th Anniversary

Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties 30th Anniversary LogoHabitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties is celebrating 30 years of serving our community! Chartered as a Habitat affiliate on October 8, 1982, we have provided decent, affordable homes to 1,234 families.

We kicked the year off with official proclamations from both the Hendry County Board of County Commissioners and the Lee County Board of County Commissioners.

On October 2nd and 3rd Habitat spokesman and Emmy Award-winning TV personality Steve Thomas, former host of home improvement shows This Old House and Renovation Nation visited our ReStore Retail & Donation Centers in Bonita Springs and N. Ft. Myers.

We were congratulated by Habitat for Humanity CEO Jonathan Reckford in this letter.

As Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties entered its 30th anniversary year, supporters gathered at a special event to celebrate and to launch the Building the Future Legacy Society to ensure that Habitat’s work continues. Guests were treated to entertainment by children of Habitat homeowners; a special address from Larry Gluth, senior vice president, Habitat for Humanity U.S. and Canada; and inspiring stories from Habitat homeowners Carol Clarke and Michelle Wolcott.
