History:
Habitat for Humanity of Lee County's maintenance division was formed due to the need for employment by Habitat homeowners. In early 2008, many longtime Habitat homeowners were facing foreclosure due to the economic downturn; a job loss or decrease in pay. Without the income to pay their zero-interest mortgage with Habitat, families were unable to afford the affordable. In an effort to save hardworking families from losing their hard earned homes, Habitat for Humanity of Lee County formed an adjunct maintenance division; which serves to provide Habitat homeowners with part-time work while extending affordable services to the general community.
