Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project
Mekong River 2009 |
Habitat for Humanity of Lee County joined former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, his wife, Rosalynn and 3000 volunteers from around the world to build during Habitat for Humanity’s 26th annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Southeast Asia. The five-day event from, Nov. 15-20, 2009 constructed and rehabilitated a total of 166 houses in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and southern China. Habitat of Lee County contributed $100,000 of its annual tithe to the project, enough to fund 22 homes in the area. To read more about the event, check out our media advisory prior to the build. |
