Ways to Donate

  • Outright Gifts – It is as easy as writing a check!  And because charitable gifts qualify for federal tax deductions, the real out-of-pocket cost of a cash transaction is usually much less than its face value.
  • Matching Gifts – Double your giving!  Contact your human resources department for information on your company’s matching charitable gift policy.
  • Monthly Giving – If you are interested in making a long-term commitment to Habitat or would like to spread out payments over a period time, we can set up a recurring gift online by using a credit or debit card.
  • Gifts of Stocks and Bonds – Gifts of appreciated property can provide even greater tax benefits than a gift of cash.  You may take a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift, while avoiding capital gains taxes.
  • Honor and Memorial Gifts – Choose an alternative gift option for birthdays, holidays, memorials and many other occasions.  Make a donation in honor of or in memory of someone to Habitat for Humanity.  You will receive a tax receipt and benefit from your donation.  We will send a card notifying either the honoree or the deceased person’s family that a gift was made in their honor.
  • Cars for Homes – Car donations can provide hope of a better life for families in your community.  It is easy to recycle your used cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, construction equipment or other vehicles – running or not.   To donate, contact Habitat’s official car donation program by calling (877) 277-4344.
  • Real Estate – Make an extraordinary gift, transfer residential or commercial property to Habitat for Humanity.  The expense of managing the property will remove a large asset from your taxable estate and relieve you of managing the property.
