Planned Gifts |
Habitat also offers a gift annuity program whereby you can donate cash or appreciated assets, realize a significant tax deduction, and receive a lifetime income from your donation. Donations can also be made by transferring appreciated securities; you avoid capital gains taxes, receive an income tax deduction, all while making a charitable donation to Habitat. You can provide a future gift to Habitat by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust, and avoid estate taxes for your heirs; you will have the peace of mind knowing that your gift will leave a lasting legacy by supporting Habitat after you are gone. Consider a charitable remainder trust to pay you or other beneficiaries an income, while remembering Habitat for Humanity of Lee County in your estate plans. Transfer ownership of a paid up policy to Habitat as way to make a future gift. Name Habitat as the beneficiary to your IRA, 401K, or other qualified retirement plan; you can escape both income and estate tax levied on the residual left in your retirement account by leaving it to charity. If you have any additional questions regarding planned gifts, please email development@habitat4humanity.org or call 239-652-0434 ext: 215
