1982 – Granted charter by Habitat for Humanity International

1987 – 21 homes completed

1990 – Vern Archibald named President and CEO, a position he continues to hold today

1993 – Habitat establishes its first thrift shop

1995 – 100th home completed

1995 – Construction begins on Habitat Beecher Village, a subdivision of 73 homes

1998 – Area “Oprah Angel Network” volunteers build the first Oprah House

1999 – 200th home completed – first ever “Women’s Build” home

2000 – Habitat Beecher Village completed

2000 – Habitat welcomes the first group from AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America)

2001 – Habitat’s warehouse completed

2001 – Habitat moves it’s thrift shop to a 27,000-square-foot warehouse across from
the Habitat offices

2002 – Habitat acquires apartments to serve as volunteer housing

2004 – 500th home completed

2004 – Habitat breaks ground on a landmark project – a 60-unit senior housing
complex

2006 - Named Affiliate of the Year

2006 - Senior Housing Complex opens

2006 - Habitat opens two additional thrift stores.
