Closing Our Most Impactful Year Yet

Habitat staff celebrating alongside Marcia, the 66th homeowner to close on her home in Fiscal Year 2022-2023!

For over 40 years, your generous support has made a transformational impact in our community, and recent circumstances have made that even more evident. Because you have been steadfast and deeply dedicated to a vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties was able to finish our fiscal year meeting our goal of serving 66 families through affordable homeownership.

In July 2022, we began our fiscal year, intending to close 66 homes. Even as Hurricane Ian significantly impacted our ability to build at full capacity after losing our Administrative Office and North Fort Myers ReStore, we stayed committed to this goal and the families behind it. And because of your support, we were able to find our footing and continue forging a path forward.

While combatting these circumstances, we continued building affordable homes, offering housing counseling to families, doing owner-occupied home repairs, and quickly added a Hurricane Recovery Home Repair Program to help low-income homeowners rebuild after the storm. We are proud to say we reached and surpassed our goals, helping more than 96 people build or improve a place to call home, and through housing counseling, an additional 1,063 gained the potential to improve their housing conditions.

Now, we are entering a new fiscal year, continuing to change, innovate and keep moving forward. Thank you for sharing this commitment. Thank you for helping us fulfill our mission. May God continue to direct and bless our efforts.
